General Overview:
The SEO Manager will be responsible for day to day management of all on-site and off-site factors of the SEO program including site optimization, link development, cross-functional collaboration, analysis and reporting. Candidate must be willing to share case studies and results from past efforts including research techniques, internal site changes that led to improved rank and higher sales, link bait programs that resulted in backlinks, and KPI's used to measure the success of an SEO program. The ideal candidate will have experience managing the SEO channel for online retailers with high volume websites.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
�?� Day-to-day management of SEO campaigns and tactical execution of SEO strategies, including:
o Keyword research, analysis, and portfolio management
o Identifying growth opportunities
o On-site content optimization
o Inbound link acquisition and optimization
o Establish, track, and report on SEO KPIs (key performance indicators) such as SERP ranking, keyword traffic, and sales performance
�?� Engage with stakeholders including merchant category managers to set and drive aggressive goals for customer acquisition through SEO
�?� Partner with cross-functional teams to drive SEO initiatives, including: eCommerce to optimize onsite content and internal links; Marketing, eCommerce & Creative to develop new keyword targeted content; IT & eCommerce to improve underlying code base and information architecture; PR/Media & Social teams to drive external link development
�?� Lead and prioritize all SEO projects including site architecture, content and linking projects
�?� Work SEO into the production schedule of the eCommerce department as well as the larger organization
�?� Manage and help plan the SEO support infrastructure including SEO agencies/vendors
�?� Act as an informational resource and SEO advocate for the business
�?� Stay on top of current search engine news, trends, SEO best practices and share these with the team
Job Requirements:
�?� 3+ years SEO experience
�?� Proven track record of optimizing eCommerce sites for competitive head terms and long tail terms
�?� Thorough knowledge of search ranking factors and critical updates
�?� Skilled in web analytics tools such as Omniture, Google Analytics; SEO keyword ranking and analysis tools
�?� Experience working as a team with online merchants, content writers, and technical resources
�?� Highly technical- comfortable updating source code, experienced with eCommerce/CMS platforms used by larger organizations, experience with technical aspects of SEO from optimal site architecture to proper codinf of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
�?� Experience developing and implementing creative programs to encourage inbound linking.
�?� Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including writing optimized web page content, Meta titles and descriptions.
�?� Familiarity with online SEO resources, tools, blogs, and forums.
�?� Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
�?� Comfortable stepping into a new role in a growing division and establishing processes to improve SEO
�?� Able to demonstrate and articulate a strong philosophy around on-site optimization, and advocate/educate SEO to the wider organization.
�?� Desire to work in a collaborative team environment; positive attitude and enthusiasm for getting results
�?� Bachelor's Degree or greater in Business, Computer Science or other relevant field
